The technological advancement of innovation among academics and students quite fast. To promote and appreciate to young innovators around the world in an innovation exhibition event, International Young Inventors Award (IYIA) 2017 is the 4th annually event. IYIA 2017 organized by Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) and supported by World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA), International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA). IYIA was held for 2 days, 22-23 September 2017 at the campus of University of Mercu Buana Jakarta.

IYIA 2017, followed by various institutions from 13 countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Macau, Jordan, Egypt, India, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Iran with a total of more than 250 Project and 800 participants. Through this innovation exhibition event, IYIA proved that development of science quite fast. Findings of innovation was developed for the advancement of human civilization.

This year, IYIA used a different judging system from the previous year. Where the judging process conducted in the classroom to make participants focus in understanding of their innovation more deeply. Awards given in IYIA 2017 are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Special Award, IFIA Award, Semi Grand Prize and Grand Prize in the form of fully funded competition to International event and Scholarship.
