Indonesia Inventors Day Report 2016
2016 International Young Inventor Award (IYIA) is the 3rd International innovation competition that held by Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA). The event is supported by World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA), International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA) and took place at Surabaya Convention Hall, Surabaya City, Indonesia on September 6 – 8, 2016.
The IYIA 2016 was participated by more than 10 countries and 600 young inventors range from elementary school to university. Countries that were participated in The IYIA 2016 such as Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Jordania, Russia, Syria, and Croatia. More than 170 inventions from various field such as technology, sains, agriculture, chemicals, medicine, education and many others were presented during the event. Participants show their invention in the form of ready-made product or prototype to all visitors and jugdges.
Participants will be awarded with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. Moreover, there were also special awards from other associations and also The Grand Prize. On this occassion, IFIA gave 2 special awards which are the IFIA Special Award and Andi Award (Andi award is a special award given to young inventors in order to commemorate the first president of INNOPA who had passed away).
IFIA Special Award was given to one of innovator from Jubilee School Jordania named Peter Soudah with his invention titled Smart Lifeguard. And for Andi award was given to one of Indonesian young inventor from Mercu Buana University which are Eri Krisna, Pandu Saputra, Hadi Pranoto and Darwin Sebayang with their invention titled Safetybelt Safe Control System (SSCS). The result was based on the judges decision and can be considered as the best invention in The IYIA 2016.
